Cheddar Cheese Scones

This is a vegetarian recipe
Very tasty and relatively healthy as a tea-time treat. A quarter of a teaspoon of dry mustard added with the flour, can help to bring out the cheese flavour. Other tasty cheeses can be substituted for Cheddar.
Ingredients
- 340g self raising flour
- 85g butter
- 55g Cheddar cheese, grated
- 125ml milk
- 4 tbsps natural yoghurt
- pinch salt
Making and cooking it
- Pre heat the oven to 200C
- Lightly grease the baking tray
- Mix flour, cheese, butter and salt until mixture resembles breadcrumbs
- Next, add the milk and yoghurt then stir until a dough is formed
- Knead the dough on a floured surface
- Roll out the dough with the rolling pin until it is 2cm thick
- Cut the dough with a round cutter and then place the scones on the baking tray
- Cook in oven for 12-15 minutes
- Let the scones cool for 5-10 minutes
