Re-fried Beans - Comments

Name: Sean 11th January 2012
how close is this to Mexican re-fried beans? This is not so very different in that it is a way of using up cooked beans. Mexican refried beans are usually mashed to make a kind of chunky paste, whereas these beans tend to hold it their shape. The savoury flavour for both is cooked onions and this one has lots of butter and parsley to give it flavour and calories. This dish was food for field workers in Tudor England and provided hot, high calorie food to work outside all day on. The Cookit Team
