Couscous is a pasta that consists of granules made by rolling and shaping moistened semolina wheat and then coating them with finely ground wheat flour. The dish is a staple food in much of Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and Libya and very popular elsewhere.

Ingredients
- 250g (10oz) of cous cous
- 300ml (½ pint) of boiling water
- Juice of one lemon
- Two handfuls of finely chopped mint
- Two handfuls of chopped spring onions
- Two handfuls of halved tomatoes
- Optional: two handfuls of chopped pepper
- 15ml (1 tablespoon) of olive oil
Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
- Sharp Knife
- Wooden Spoon
Making and cooking it

- First measure out the cous cous and put it into a bowl
- Then boil the 300ml (½ pint) of water and when it has boiled
- Pour into the bowl with the cous cous and leave that for five mins
- Chop up the veg and mint
- Once the cous cous is ready stir it around a bit to get the lumps out
- Put all the chopped stuff in and stir that around
- Last of all you put the olive oil in
