A simple Italian favourite that is quick to prepare.
Ingredients
- 200g (8oz) spaghetti
- 15ml (1 tablespoon) olive oil
- 255g (10oz) beef steak, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
- ½ red onion, peeled and sliced
- 400g (14oz) tinned tomatoes
- 1 stock cube
- fresh herbs eg basil, parsley
- parmesan cheese, grated
Equipment
- Frying Pan
- Wooden Spoon
- Saucepan
- Knife
- Colander
- Servinf Dish
Making and cooking it

1. Heat the oil in a medium pan
2. Add the steak mince, onions and garlic and brown for 5-6 minutes
3. Tip in the tomatoes and add the Worcestershire sauce
4. Crumble in the stock cube and stir well
5. Leave the bolognese to simmer for 10-12 minutes
6. Bring a large pan of water to the boil
7. Drop the spaghetti into the water and boil for 10-12 minutes
8. When the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and divide between 2 plates
9. Spoon the bolognese onto the plates of spaghetti
10. Garnish with the fresh herbs and serve
11. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top to taste
