Simple Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chips are always a great favourite among young people!
  • 2 cups (280g) white flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 1/4  cups (250g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup ( 175g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) white sugar
  • 3/4 cup (180g) unsalted butter, melted.


  • An oven
  • Cookie sheets
  • Sieve
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon
  • Cooling rack

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degree
  2. Grease cookie sheets
  3. Mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Leave on the side for now 
  4. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until they are well blended
  5. Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until they are creamy
  6. Combine the sifted flour, baking soda and salt until they are blended
  7. Stir in the chocolate chips
  8. Spoon the cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the cookie sheets
  9. Bake for 15 minutes
  10. Cool on baking sheets
