Great ideas for fun party cakes. If your butter icing hasn't got enough cocoa powder in just add more until you are happy with the taste!
Ingredients
  • 12 ice cream cones
  • 235g butter (110g for butter icing)
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 125g self raising flour
  • 4 Flake chocolate bars
  • 3-4 tbsp milk (3-4 for cake and an extra 1-2 for butter icing)
  • hundreds and thousands or sprinkles
  • 170g icing sugar
  • 90g cocoa powder
Equipment
  • Bowls 
  • Spoons
  • Whisk or wooden spoon 
  • Wired rack for cooling cakes down
  • 2 Muffin tins of 6
  • Piping bag
  • Star shape nozzle for piping bag
Making and cooking it

  1. Sponge: To make the sponge pre-heat the oven to 190/Gas mark 5
  2. Place the cones in a 12 hole muffin tin one in each space
  3. Now whisk 125g butter and all of the caster sugar together until pale and smooth
  4. Then slowly whisk in the eggs until combined
  5.  Add the flour and 3-4 tbsp of milk then whisk again until all combined
  6. Divide your mixture evenly between the 12 cones then bake for 20-25 mins until golden brown
  7. Once ready place on a wire rack to cool
  8. Buttercream: Beat the rest of the butter into a large bowl until smooth 
  9. Add half of the icing sugar and then beat again till soft
  10. Once all of that is smooth and creamy, place the other remaining icing sugar, all of the cocoa powder and 1 tbsp of the milk and beat until creamy. You can also add more milk if you need to.
  11. Once the cakes are cool enough, place the buttercream into a piping bag and pipe onto the cake like a Mr.Whippy ice cream
  12. Now you just need to break the flake into an appropriate size and put them in the sides of your ice cream cakes!
  13. All you need to do now is put loads of sprinkles on them!
