Once you have tried this very interesting cake, you might like to have a go at using other fruit and flavoured jelly.
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1/2 sachet powder strawberry flavoured jelly
  • 200g soft butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 300g plain flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 15 strawberries
  • 1 bag icing sugar


  • Large bowl
  • Blender
  • Oven
  • Spoon
  • Knife
  • Whisk


Making and cooking it

  1. Preheat oven to 180C
  2. Cut head off strawberries and mix in blender
  3. Mix butter, sugar and powder jelly in a large bowl
  4. Add eggs one at a time whilst mixing
  5. Add flour and baking powder 
  6. Stir in with milk
  7. Finally add vanilla and strawberry from blender
  8. When mixed pour in to baking tray
  9. Bake for 25 mins
  10. Leave to cool for 10 mins
  11. Apply icing sugar
