Try brussel sprouts this way - they are delicious, you might even like them!
  • 300g (12oz) trimmed leeks, finely sliced
  • 200ml (7½fl oz) light vegetable stock
  • 200g (8oz) trimmed brussels sprouts
  • 30ml (2 tablespoons) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • salt and black pepper

  • Colander

  1. Place the leeks in a large saucepan and add the stock
  2. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer on a low heat for 5 minutes
  3. Add the sprouts
  4. Stir, replace the cover and simmer again for 4-5 minutes until they start to soften
  5. Drain then season with salt and pepper and stir in the lemon juice, just before serving
