Ingredients
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 50g popcorn kernels
- 50g dark chocolate (50% cocoa solids)
- 50g milk chocolate
- 50g white chocolate
Equipment
- Large pan with a lid
- Large bowl
- 3 cereal bowls
- 3 baking sheets
- Grease proof paper
- Bain Marie or small microwaveable bowl
- Gift bags and ribbon
Making and cooking it

- Place the oil in a large pan and heat until just smoking
- Add the popcorn kernels and quickly cover with a lid
- You will hear the kernels start to pop, shake the pan from time to time to stop the popcorn on the bottom from burning
- When the popping has stopped, the popcorn is ready
- Remove from heat and allow to cool before handling
- Tip into a large bowl and remove any un-popped kernels
- Divide equally into 3 bowls
Line 3 baking sheets with greaseproof paper - Meanwhile break the chocolate into 3 separate bowls
- Melt one bowl of chocolate using a bain marie or microwave. If using a microwave cook for 10 seconds, stir and repeat until the chocolate is melted. Do not overdo it as chocolate can easily burn
- Take the first bowl of popcorn and half dip into the melted chocolate, then place on the baking sheet. Or you can tip the popcorn into the melted chocolate and give it a good stir to coat the popcorn.
- Repeat 9 & 10 with the other 2 types of chocolate
- Allow to set (around 30 minutes)
- Place a mixture of the 3 popcorns into gift bags and decorate with a ribbon - makes a fabulous edible Christmas gift
