  • 400g (14oz) broccoli
  • 1 medium size chopped onion
  • 1 medium size chopped potato
  • 1 clove mashed garlic
  • 5 x 15ml spoons (tablespoons) olive oil
  • 1 x 15ml spoons (tablespoons) plain flour
  • 10 glasses water
  • 200g (8oz) cream
  • desired amount black pepper
  • desired amount salt
  • Saucepan
  • Knife
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Blender

  1. Pour olive oil into a very large pan, put on a gentle heat
  2. Add the onions and fry gently until soft, then add the potato and fry for a further minute
  3. Add the broccoli and garlic and stir well
  4. Add the flour to coat with the mixture and stir again
  5. Pour enough boiling water in the pan to cover the vegetables
  6. Leave to cook on a low heat for approx 15 minutes until all the vegetables are cooked - test this by carefully removing a piece of vegetable and eating it to see if it is soft
  7. Turn off the oven and blend all the ingredients by using a blender
  8. Turn the oven on againand put on a gentle heat and add the cream and stir well
  9. Season with salt and blackpepper
  10. Serve in bowls with wholemeal bread
