This is Alice's soup, one of the soups made by pupils for the Spaldwick Community Primary School Soup Competition.
Ingredients
  • 4 carrots - peeled and chopped quite small
  • 1 onion
  • 1 x 15ml spoon (tablespoon) rapeseed oil
  • 1 heaped teaspoon lazy ginger
  • 900ml (1½ pints) of vegetable stock
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 block dried medium egg noodles
Equipment
  • Saucepan
  • Knife

Making and cooking it
Always wash your hands before preparing food Always wash your hands before preparing food.

  1. Heat oil and fry onion until gold
  2. Add carrots and ginger and sizzle
  3. Add 1 pint of stock and cayenne pepper
  4. Put the lid on and simmer for 10 minutes
  5. Add the rest of the stock and noodles and simmer for 6 minutes or unitl the noodles are soft
