This is Alice's soup, one of the soups made by pupils for the Spaldwick Community Primary School Soup Competition.
Ingredients
- 4 carrots - peeled and chopped quite small
- 1 onion
- 1 x 15ml spoon (tablespoon) rapeseed oil
- 1 heaped teaspoon lazy ginger
- 900ml (1½ pints) of vegetable stock
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 block dried medium egg noodles
Equipment
- Saucepan
- Knife
Making and cooking it

- Heat oil and fry onion until gold
- Add carrots and ginger and sizzle
- Add 1 pint of stock and cayenne pepper
- Put the lid on and simmer for 10 minutes
- Add the rest of the stock and noodles and simmer for 6 minutes or unitl the noodles are soft
