Creamy Carrot Soup

This is Anthony's soup, one of the soups made by pupils for the Spaldwick Community Primary School Soup Competition.

  • 500g (1lb 2oz) carrots (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 medium onion (peeled and chopped)
  • 50g (2oz)butter
  • 600ml (1 pint) vegetable stock
  • 100ml (3½ fl oz) cream
  • salt and pepper
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Blender
Making and cooking it

  1. Heat the butter in a saucepan then add the carrots and onion and cook for five minutes, stirring as needed 
  2. Add the stock and simmer until the carrots are tender
  3. Add soup to the blender until smooth
  4. Return to the saucepan and add salt/pepper to taste and cream. Do NOT boil after adding the cream
