This is Angela's soup, one of the soups made by pupils in the Spaldwick Community Primary School Soup Competition.
Ingredients
- 1kg (2lb 4oz) potatoes
- 2 leeks
- chilli flakes
- splash of cream
- salt and pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
- half a green chilli
- 1 litre (1¾ pints) of vegetable stock
Equipment
- Knife
- Wooden Spoon
- Saucepan
- Blender
Making and cooking it
Always wash your hands before preparing food. - Cut up the leeks, chilli, onions and garlic
- Chop up the potatoes
- Fry the onions, leeks, potatoes, garlic and chilli with a knob of butter
- Add the vegetable stock
- Simmer for 20 minutes then take off the heat
- Allow to cool and blend to a smooth texture
- Add salt, pepper, cream and chilli flakes to taste
- Enjoy
