Edwardians and WW1

The Edwardian period was known as the age of elegance. There was great wealth and extravagance. There was also ongoing poverty and malnutrition, but the period saw a move to a more democratic society. The period was to end in the tragic events of World War 1 - a war that was to sweep away so much of what went before and see the death of 772,000 young men from across Britain.
