Healthiness : (905 votes)
Difficulty:  1 out of 5 difficulty
Comments: This is an easy recipe. The jelly needs to set, preferably overnight. Don't mix and add the Angel Delight until an hour or two before the dish will be served, as it can go soggy.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes, but you do need to leave plenty of time for the jelly to set before adding the topping.
Cooking Time: None
Number of servings: Approximately 8 jellies.
Serving suggestions: Serve for dessert or as part of a party tea.

Making and cooking it
Always wash your hands before preparing food Always wash your hands before preparing food.

To make the jelly, follow the instructions printed on the back of the jelly packet:

  1. Dissolve the jelly cubes in a heatproof measuring jug using a little boiling water or in the microwave
  2. Add enough cold water to make the liquid up to 1 pint
  3. Pour into paper cases and leave to go cold. It is a good idea to make the jelly the day before and leave it to set overnight

No more than an hour or two before serving: make the Angel Delight topping; follow the instructions on the packet:

  1. Add the 1/2 pint of milk to a bowl, add the Angel Delight and whisk until creamy
  2. Leave to thicken for 5 minutes
  3. Spoon some Angel Delight onto the top of each jelly and sprinkle with sugar strands
  4. Keep cool until ready to serve
